Residents Service Coordinator Responsibilities

Resident Intervention and Assessment Services

  • Direct assistance to residents in upholding lease obligations, specifically in the areas of budgeting, housekeeping, neighbor relations and landlord/tenant responsibilities
  • Referrals to appropriate social services available in the community
  • Crisis intervention relating to property management issues

Resident Communication and Outreach

  • Ongoing programs are available at all sites that respond to the needs of the elders and disabled. Topics may include but are not limited to:
    - elder health issues
    - mental health concerns/support options
    - health and prescription insurance information
    - home safety
    - money management
    - education regarding available community services
    - alternative living options
  • Support and encourage resident leadership and participation in ongoing programs at all of the sites. These programs/groups include:
    - Bingo
    - Coffee
    - Cards
    - Social
    - Exercise
    - Educational 
  • Communication via monthly events and activity fliers posted in all residential buildings and in community rooms at all sites.

Community Liasion & Resource Gathering

  • A Community Resource Guide is available free of charge to all residents and is offered at move in time and is also available at the social service brochure rack outside the Resident Service Coordinators office at 40 William Shyne Circle
  • The Resident Service Coordinator provides linkages to a variety of relevant resources/programs such as:
    - elder support services
    - mental health
    - daily personal care assistance
    - money management
    - personal care
    - prescription advantage
    - health insurance options
    - legal, health care proxy and power of attorney referrals
    - assisted living and nursing home possibilities
    - homemaker assistance
